American pop artist Burton Morris and the Kobold Watch Company have done something truly unique. Together they created the "POP" watch which was part of a charity auction to benefit the United Service Organization of New York City. The auction was held on September 16th in remembrance of the five-year anniversary of the attacks of September 11th, 2001.
How many times have you left the remote on the other side of the room and just don't feel like getting up to get it? Well now you will never have to ever again. Brando Workshop has come out with the TV001 Touch Screen TV Remote Watch
Ok nowadays having a kid when you want to is so easy. There are all kinds of devices you can use to monitor the cycle and drugs you can take. But what if your watch could help you get pregnant and then help you plan the pregnancy? Well thats exactly what LAKS has decided to do with their new Baby Boom Watch.
Not only does the watch track fertile days, but it will track what week of pregnancy you're in, and even has features like a name finder.
Have you ever had trouble waking up in the morning, or woken up so groggy that it ruins your whole day? The Sleeptrack is the answer to this problem. This innovative watch has all the features of a normal watch, but it also monitors the wearer's sleep paterns to detect the best possible wake up times.
Sleeptracker's alarm then goes off at the optimum moment during a pre-set, customised window of time, so that the wearer wakes up alert and energized.
The #1 unique watch retailer, Tokyoflash, is at it again. Unlike your standard time-piece the new Equalizer watch uses around seventy LED's to tell the time using either green or blue LED's. The LED's will light up once a minute to display the time, all that's involved is some simple calculations.
However, the makers of this unique watch don't seem to be too concerned with practical uses. In an era where cell phones and PDAs can easily be used as time pieces, the makers have focused upon design and aesthetics.
Neolog has created a new innovative watch that will be useable and understandable in all cultural frontiers. It's the new A-24 II a watch that tells time without numbers.
The method by which this watch tells time is a new definition of time. Designer Arman Emami said he wanted to replace analogue time so he created Neolog time.
Casio introduced the first GPS watch in 1999, but the watch was rather large and heavy for an athletic watch. Since then other companies have come out with their versions each one getting smaller and more advanced. Casio is back to re-claim the throne though releasing the GPR-100, the world's smallest GPS watch.
These are unquestionably the most unusual watches I've ever seen. It's not because they're oddly shaped or have some kind of weird technology, but rather because of what is displayed on them. For example, you've got the Avidas, which tells you how stressed out you are. Then there's the Fallax, a wrist-worn polygraph. Who doesn't need one of those?
Of course, my personal favorite is the Inveratus, which keeps track of time by telling you what's currently on TV. Oh, my. Look at the time -- it's a quarter past Moesha. I gotta go.
Anyone who spends some amount of time here at Wrist Dreams probably knows that I have an affliction for watches that really make you think to figure out the time. That's why I own a TIX clock for my bedroom. It helps to wake up my brain.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested by this watch, which displays the time in morse code. You can take a trip back into the 1890's with this perfect blend of new and old technology. And, if you want a jolt back into the 21st Century, there is a mode that just displays the time digitally.
Oddly enough, the "TV wristwatch" concept is not as unusual as it sounds. They date back to the beginning of WristDreams, a couple years ago. However, we haven't seen a watch with a built-in TV tuner that looks quite as bulky and heavy as this latest one from Japan.
I can't read Japanese, so I can only go by what Engadget says about this, and according to them the watch is currently only being offered as part of a contest. Seems you can win one just by buying Japanese beer. It's too bad Americans don't need any such incentive to get drunk.
Japanese online watch store Tokyoflash informed us about a new uniquely styled wristwatch from Eleeno.
The Bingo by EleeNo features takes its inspiration from a Bingo card. The all black watch face features dots showing the time. This Japanese watch is simpler to read the most of the LED watches we reported about. Simpler also means that you only can approximately the minutes. The Bingo only has for dots for the hour (0,15,30,45). The indicator is visible though between those four dots.
Chinese mp3 player maker Aigo takes a stab on a wristwatch portable media player.
The Aigo F029 features a color OLED display with 160x128px resolution. The media watch plays MP3, WMA-DRM audio files and MP4 video.
There will be a 512MB and 1GB F029 available.
