To have video games on a wristwatch is not something new, but the concept designs are nicely done. Fossil offered in 2005 already watches with Breakout, Asteriods and Centipede. The games have not been playable on those watches and just were animated.

Japanese watch maker Citizen buys U.S. based Bulova from Loews for $247 million.
The purchase is supposed to strengthen Citizen in the $200-$600 segment. Bulova offers a wide range of watches. You can see some of them here.

Swiss luxury watch maker Hublot announces their presence in Second Life. Hublot’s island in 2nd Life features luxurious bars, a marina, exhibition area and even an online shop.

Hublot is the first watch brand to open a virtual presence in Second Life. Judging from the screen-shots the company invested to create a rich environment featuring an exhibition area with real 3D models of Hublot watches.

A bunch of fancy watches hit the auction block at the fabled U.S. auction site known as Christie's. With a total amount of about $6.2 million spent, it sets a one-day record for a watch auction.

The highest-selling item was an 18 carat gold European single-button chronograph watch, which sold for $432,000. In fact, it was tough to get any watch there for under 100 grand.

The BaselWorld organizers report tha the BaselWorld 2007 had a record number of 101,700 visitors (+ 8% / 2006) and outstanding sales.

As announced I have been at the BaselWorld 2007 yesterday. The weather was extremely beautiful and there where lots of inviting cafés outside the halls, but the temptation of the newest timepieces has prevailed and I roamed the halls at the world's largest watch show all day.

I brought back tons of interesting news, photos and bags full of marketing material. BaselWorld is impressive and when i closed my eyes in the evening I just saw watches.

It is amazing how many brands that you know from fashion or other fields also do watches.

As reported, Paris Hilton appeared at the BaselWorld 2007 in Basel, Switzerland to introduce her new watch collection.

Swiss television published a video report online featuring Paris Hilton's BaselWorld appearance in a sexy black short dress and a perfect opening line: "It is my first time in Zurich and it is a beautiful city". The audience had to correct her that BaselWorld is in Basel.
