Gresso, a manufacturer of luxury mobile phones, unveiled its first watch collection Grand Wind Skeleton at BASELWORLD 2010 Show. I know Baselworld 2010 is over, but we just got the press-release from Gresso announcing the Grand Wind.
The name Grand Wind Skeleton is in close connection with the term 'self-winding'. This is what completes the creative idea of the collection - massive rotor of 18K gold is situated on the front of the dial. Elegant watch case, 45 mm diameter and 12 mm height, is executed of 18K gold. The movement is skeletonized and easy seen from both inner and outer side of the case.

The Baselworld 2010 is over and the organizers draw a positive resume. The visitor number rose 7% (100,700) and Swiss watch makers watch exports on the rise since the start of the year.

Swiss-based Bulova Corporation has announced that it now has the most accurate timepiece in the world with a continuous sweeping second hand and a brand new under-the-hood technology that ensures unmatchable precision.

TAG Heuer introduces the TAG Heuer Pendulum Concept, the first-ever mechanical movement without hairspring at the Baselworld 2010 tonight as earlier hinted.
A coiled strip of fine metal alloy, the hairspring provides usually the torque necessary for the balance wheel to oscillate and regulate its frequency. The mechanical hairspring has three serious design limitations: a mass that makes it sensitive to gravity and deforms its geometry; a material that makes it sensitive to thermal expansion; and a divergence between its geometric centre and its centre of mass.

Believe it or not, even an industry that attracts millionaires and a customer base that would seem to be able to weather economic storms, watch and jewelry sales are hurt by recessions. That was one of the key comments made in an opening press conference for the Baselworld trade show that opened today in Switzerland.

Bonhams announces the sale of the ‘Haslinger Collection’ of fine and rare Heuer watches on Wednesday 15 December at Bonhams New Bond Street, London. These 81 watches in the collection represent the ‘best of the best’ which is why TAG Heuer is to showcase highlights of them as part of their anniversary celebrations. The watches range in value from £1,500 to £15,000.
TAG Heuer has also created a unique watch especially for this auction. It is based on the newly launched Silverstone model and the dial will incorporate Jack Heuer’s signature, a true one-off for the discerning collector. All proceeds will be donated to the Green Cross International charity. Arno Haslinger will also donate his original Silverstone to be auctioned for this cause and Bonhams will add a further 20% to the hammer price and an additional £5,000 in support of the charity.

Tag Heuer teams with Tesla for special-edition car and watch in 150th anniversary

The heralded watch company Tag Heuer turns 150 years old in 2010, and to commemorate it has worked with famed car maker Tesla to create a special one-of-a-kind roadster. This car even has a special console to display a new exclusively-crafted Tag Heuer watch.

The annual Baselworld trade show in Switzerland, which covers the world of high fashion and jewelry, runs from this Thursday, March 18, through next Thursday the 25th. In the month leading up to this always-exciting show, Wrist Dreams has provided more pre-show coverage than any other site.

Paris watchmaker Saint Honore to unveil new series to celebrate 125-year milestone

Saint Honore sent out press invites today to an event where it will officially unveil a new series of "exclusive timepieces" specifically crafted to celebrate 2010 as the 125th year of the company.

Switzerland based design studio, Virtualideas, has sent us their latest concept design.
This new watch design features a square shaped watch with dimensions that would be 50mm wide and 45mm tall. Sharp faceting around the edges and faceting around the edges of the sapphire crystal to impose a contemporary look to this timepiece.

The dial is separated into two areas, one for the hours, and one for the minutes. As the hand moves vertically along two rails, it turns on itself when it comes to the top or bottom. Thus each side of the path is used to display the time.
