The Equalizer BPM watch has the usual time and date displays, but also has a mini flashlight built in and as the main unique feature can count Beats Per Minute (BPM).
Pressing the central D button for a moment enters BPM mode and subsequent tapping of the button to a rhythm allows the watch to measure the frequency of the beats and then display it on the backlit LCD screen.
You need to tap at least 5 times for the BPM to show, but you can keep tapping and the watch will average out your last 5 taps to display the BPM.The BPM counter has a working range of around 24BPM up to 199BPM.

Here's something you certainly don't see every day. Turkey's Garanti Bank has teamed up with MasterCard to offer the world's first watch with a PayPass-enabled credit card built in.

PayPass is a special technology enabled on credit cards and keytags that allow consumers to pay for smaller purchases by just tapping it onto a special sensor.

Participating retailers in Turkey include Burger King, Starbucks, and the Istanbul Ferry Corporation.

Tag Heuer informed us at the BaselWorld that the amazing Tag Heuer Monaco V4 is now available in a pre-series of 20 units. Two of them have been worn by Tag Heuer representatives at the BaselWorld 2007.

It is still a long way until the belt-driven timepiece will be available on the market though. The V4 pre-series is currently put through intensive testing to meet Tag Heuer's high quality standards. The aim is also to obtain a COSC chronometer certification for the Monaco V4.
