The De GRISOGONO MECCANICO dG is extremely complicated and consists of 651 components. the MECCANICO dG timepiece displays two distinct timezones and two displays.

URWERK unveiled their latest audacious creation, the UR-202. In 2006 Urwerk already amazed with the Urwerk 103 and in 2007 it was the time for the Urwerk 210 to shine.
The new UR-202 is highly dramatic and features besides the patented revolving satellite complication the innovative new winding system regulated by compressed air.

Zenith unveiled the futuristic Port Royal watches at the BaselWorld 2008. It falls for me in the same cool tech inspired design spirit as the RSW Outland and Hamilton Code Breaker, which also have been revealed at the BaselWorld 2008. Do we have a new trend of luxury tech/sci-fi inspired timepieces? If yes, I am all for it.

Austrian watch maker Laks unveils the world's first wristwatch with integrated DVB-T TV tuner. At first I thought this is another take of a wrist TV watch, which is dearly needed, after the NHJ demise in 2005, but the Laks DVB-T TV watch does not have a display.

The LAKS TV watch connects via USB to a PC or Mac and you can watch digital terrestrial Television.

Swiss Rama Watch Sa offers under RSW brand interesting timepieces. At the BaselWorld 2008 they introduced the RSW Outland. I am always fascinated by watch designs that are very technical and have an futuristic touch. The RSW Outland features a square face that has big screws to attach the band, could be straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Rama says "The RSW Outland design is inspired by the postmodern "high-tech" movement of the 1970s, a period in which architecture was a privileged mode of expression and a concept that is loyally incarnated by the Outland timepiece."

Seiko unveils the SEIKO Spring Drive Spacewalk watch at the BaselWorld 2008, which will go into Space in October.

In October 2008, Richard Garriott, the renowned video game designer and adventurer, will become the sixth private space explorer. Richard will conduct his space mission aboard the International Space Station, and during his flight, he intends to conduct a spacewalk, which would make him the first private individual to do so. As steps out into free space, he will be wearing a SEIKO Spring Drive watch, specially designed and built for this purpose.

Breitling introduces the very tough Avenger Seawolf Chrono at the BaselWorld 2008.

The Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chrono is the world's only chronograph to be both watertight and operational at a depth of 3,300 feet (1000 meters).

Whereas most chronographs cannot be activated while diving so as to prevent water seeping in through the pushpieces, Breitling has achieved a major technical breakthrough by developing the magnetic pushpiece principle, involving controls operated through the metal of the case and thus avoiding any direct contact between the pushpiece and the movement.

The Tag Heuer SLR Calibre S Laptimer is the first SLR that is not a limited edition.

Tag Heuer announced a great new concept watch at the Baselword 2008. The Tag Heuer Grand CARRERA Calibre 36 RS Caliper Concept Chronograph is the world's first automatic chronograph with 1/10th of a second Caliper Rotating Scale.

This cool new Tag Heuer concept timepiece inspired the famous designer Ken Okuyama when he created his high performance and eco-compatible GT Car, displayed on the TAG Heuer booth at Basel world.

Diesel offers with the DZ7086 a wristwatch with a two color OLED display.

The OLED module uses the same display as cell phones, making this style a modern update to the old LED watches of the 70s. On the Diesel DZ7086 four dynamic animations cycle at random when the top pusher is pressed and a time display animation is shown when the bottom pusher is pressed.

Last year Swiss watchmaker Glycine introduced the cool AIRMAN 7 Plaza Mayor Pilot at the Baselworld. At the Baselworld 2008 Glycine introduces two new models in their 2007 launched INCURSORE Black Jack line. I am sure the company has more releases up their sleeves for Baselworld, but lets focus on their first announcement this year.

The new Glycine INCURSORE Black Jack Automatic Chronographis very similar in appearance to the INCURSORE Black Jack Manual, which was launched a few months ago; this watch, however, has an automatic movement.
