Baselworld 2010: Would You Pay $275,000 For A Watch Phone? Celsius X VI II to unveil mobile phone with mechanical watch innards

When most people think of merging phones and watches these days, the first thing that comes to mind is a wristwatch that is also a phone. I mean, there's nothing unique about a phone that is also a watch. Those are a dime (a penny, really) a dozen. So leave it to the minds of a high-fashion French design company to take that bland concept and make it something exquisite.

The Remontage Papillon is a tourbillon phone without a lot of high-tech phone parts. You'll notice, though, that the front of this flip phone contains a whole lot of mechanical pieces. That's because built inside are nearly 550 moving parts that bring an old-school watch right into the interior of the phone.

The movement of the parts is designed to mimic a butterfly flapping its wings. It's something so simple, yet no simpleton will be able to afford this phone. Its price tag will be $275,000. .

This timepiece is slated to be on display at the Baselworld trade show in Switzerland later this month. Keep checking back to Wrist Dreams for the latest previews and news from the show.
