Baselworld 2010: Quarta Automatic Swiss watch from Jean d'Eve promises "new age in the reading of time"

This is certainly not your grandmother's wristwatch. The unique concept at play in this time piece is the four separate dials, each representing one eighth of a day. Each hand keeps track of time for three hours, then it moves on to the next dial for the following three hours, and so on. Jean d'Eve calls it a "relay race" of time counting that is much more interactive than the typical clock face.

In the center of the watch is a standard minutes counter, though it looks quite bare without an hour hand accompanying it. File this one under "cool, but a bit confusing"

The device is made with stainless steel materials and anti-reflective sapphire crystals. It is also slightly water resistant (up to 30 meters).

This timepiece is slated to be showcased at next month's Baselworld convention in Switzerland. Keep checking back to Wrist Dreams for the latest previews and news from the show.
