Sleek, monochromatic watch is robust and packed with tech
Maurice Lacroix always tries to impress with its sophisticated French names. The new "Chronographe Rectangulaire" from its Pontos collection has been announced and will be on display at next month's Baselworld show. The distinctive feature about this piece - black. The steel-coasted cases is made with black ceramic, there are blank hands and a velvety black dial, and the strap is made of black rubber with a black-ceramic buckle. In other words, it is one of those "monochrome chic" pieces that work for some but not others.
This 25-jewel, 28,800 vib/h watch contains three small counters for hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as white Superluminova tips on the hands to make the time easy to read. There is an integrated lever system to ensure accuracy and a 48-hour power reserve.
It is a fashion statement, just like most of Maurice Lacroix's creations. It may look simplistic but the company's high-tech timekeeping technology is hiding under that sleek black faceplate.
This timepiece is slated to be showcased at next month's Baselworld convention in Switzerland. Keep checking back to Wrist Dreams for the latest previews and news from the show.
