Historical replica of watch worn by Charles Lindbergh
Founded in 1832, Longines is one of the longest-running watch companies in the world. Its storied history includes serving as an official timepiece in the 19th Century Olympics, the Tour de France, and in the aeronatics industry. With that reputation, Charles Lindbergh had the company design a watch specifically for him after his record-setting transatlantic flight.
That watch has now been authentically replicated and available for consumers. The watch face contains a tachometer as well as two small dials on each side of the watch: a 30-minute counter and a seconds counter. A genuine alligator buckle holds together this historic replica, reprised 77 years after it was first crafted for Lindbergh.
Other features of this Longines watch include an engraved cover, sapphire crystal back, and options for steel or 18K pink gold surfacing. This is sure to instill salivating for any aviation history buff.
This timepiece is slated to be showcased at next month's Baselworld convention in Switzerland. Keep checking back to Wrist Dreams for the latest previews and news from the show.
