The Plus Four Wristlet Route Indicator from 1927 can be seen as one of the first wrist worn navigation gadgets. The impressive gadget contains a paper roll with card material printed on. Via the knobs on each side the wearer can display the segment of the map he currently needs.
The Plus Four Wristlet Route Indicator is one of the major attractions at the Curious Contraptions exhibition of eccentric inventions from the Victorian and Edwardian eras, at Standen House in East Grinstead, East Sussex, on various dates until 1 June.
