The De GRISOGONO MECCANICO dG is extremely complicated and consists of 651 components. the MECCANICO dG timepiece displays two distinct timezones and two displays.

Diesel unveiled new cool watches for 2008. The line-up of the Diesel watches include the futuristic styled DZ7091 (photo).When a button is pushed on the Diesel DZ7091, the time appears from behind a mirror display. Following right on time is the word Diesel. The scrolling message is programmable for up to 20 characters.

The World's largest watch trade-show BaselWorld came to a close again. As reported despite world-wide financial turbulences and economic down-turn in some parts of the world, the BaselWorld 2008 broke again its visitor record. 106,800 visitors descended onto Basel to see the newest watches and jewelry.
We reported about tons of new wristwatches over the last weeks and by far have not covered all of the new releases - It is an impossible task.
The BaselWorld 2008 comes to a close and it is another record breaking year for the largest watch trade-show in the world.
The 2,087 exhibiting companies from 45 countries were thrilled at the record figure of 106,800 visitors (up 5%) to the show from around the world.
Zenith unveiled the futuristic Port Royal watches at the BaselWorld 2008. It falls for me in the same cool tech inspired design spirit as the RSW Outland and Hamilton Code Breaker, which also have been revealed at the BaselWorld 2008. Do we have a new trend of luxury tech/sci-fi inspired timepieces? If yes, I am all for it.
Austrian watch maker Laks unveils the world's first wristwatch with integrated DVB-T TV tuner. At first I thought this is another take of a wrist TV watch, which is dearly needed, after the NHJ demise in 2005, but the Laks DVB-T TV watch does not have a display.
The LAKS TV watch connects via USB to a PC or Mac and you can watch digital terrestrial Television.
Swiss Rama Watch Sa offers under RSW brand interesting timepieces. At the BaselWorld 2008 they introduced the RSW Outland. I am always fascinated by watch designs that are very technical and have an futuristic touch. The RSW Outland features a square face that has big screws to attach the band, could be straight out of a sci-fi movie.
Rama says "The RSW Outland design is inspired by the postmodern "high-tech" movement of the 1970s, a period in which architecture was a privileged mode of expression and a concept that is loyally incarnated by the Outland timepiece."
Seiko unveiled at the BaselWorld 2008 the new limited edition Arctura.
The Seiko SEIKO Arctura Ultimate Kinetic Chronograph SLQ025 features the 9T82 caliber. Each of the five inner dials is framed by a strong circular ring and they give the whole design an air of clarity and simplicity. Like rain drops landing on water, the dials are bright, alive and beautiful.
