The stylish plastic Swatch is celebrating its 25th birthday today March 1st. Nicolas Hayek introduced 12 plastic watches in 1983 and started a revolution in the Swiss watch making business, which was not doing well back then.

Swatch is the most successful wristwatch with 370 million sold. 5,000 Swatch models have been released in the last 25 years.
Looks like Swatch does not make a big thing out of this anniversary and nothing on their site indicates any special Swatch releases to celebrate the event. Casio is celebrating the whole year the 25th anniversary of the G-Shock brand with new releases every other month.
