Formula 1 watch - get your race on Though I've never been a big fan on car racing, I find some of the merchandise cool. This Azimuth Bi-Retrograde watch is just such an example. The face is laid out like a Formula 1 race car dashboard. When you're going 59 miles per hour with 4K RPMs, you know it's time to punch out (that's 4:59 for the uninitiated).

It runs mechanically and has a perforated leather strap. It's perfect for those who just aren't fit enough to be professional car drivers.

Watch prototype wants you to be on time We've seen GPS watches, watches with calendars, and WiFi watches, but this is the first time I've seen all three of these used for a killer watch application. This timepiece, still in prototype status, uses these technologies to let you know when you should leave for events programmed in your calendar.

It takes into account things like traffic conditions, estimated drive time, and any other en route points you may have scheduled. In addition to all this, it can connect wirelessly with a cell phone via Bluetooth.

Gervan Lubbe, a man who designed products to help people with life-changing diseases, is facing, of all things, fraud allegations. Lubbe, who invented a wristwatch that doubles as a Malaria monitor (pictured), is accused of tampering with his company's balance sheets to hide executive salaries to make it look like the company had more income than it really did.

In a smaller, separate case, Lubbe also was not able to prove claims he made regarding the efficiency of the watch. Health-related wristwatches have been around for a while. Though, it's certainly a rarity for the designer of such a watch to come under legal trouble.

The relativity watch Here's an interesting idea. Imagine looking at your watch and the hands are always in the same place no matter what? Can it still tell time? Sure, if the numbers constantly move around. That's the concept behind this gimmicky $30 watch.

The "Relativity Watch" is sure to be as difficult to read as it is undecorative. Pointless? Yes. Frustrating? You bet. Mesmerizing, nonetheless? Absolutely.

Heist alert: 120 million yen worth of watches stolen We've all seen those surveillance tapes of some lunatic trying to steal some jewelry from behind the counter, but here's something on a higher magnitude. Nearly 120 million yen worth of merchandise was stolen from a high-end Tokyo, Japan watch store.

Of course, that's only about 5 cents in American currency (actually, it's a little over $1,000,000). Police say the suspects are part of a gang that specialize in this sort of crime.

The Lego Watch The Lego Watch you have to put together of course yourself, like any other Lego set.

The pieces of the wrist band snap together and you can arrange the different colors as you like. The watch is of course intended for kids, but the Lego watch also has the potential of being a fun discussion topic at a party.

Watch My Wrist The Netflix for expensive watches Though jewelry renting isn't exactly unheard of, this is first time we've seen it taken online, with an exclusive focus on watches. "Watch My Wrist" is a new online service that lets you rent fancy wrist bling to impress your date. It offers no advice for how to tell her that you live a $200 a month apartment, though.

The site's main page has a basic description of the service: "Instead of purchasing expensive watches and jewelry, you can now wear them for a specified period of time at a fraction of the cost."
