This timepiece signifies every facets of red: Fire, passion, hot, fury, love. It is said, “Red symbolizes life, vitality, strength and the physical nature of man. In nature, red represents heat, fire and anger. Rose-red is the color of universal harmony.” And in harmony it is, as this watch synchronously clock movements.
Derived from the romantic and passionate shores of Italy, the Forza Rossa is a startling watch crafted by the Italian watch company VABENE. This creative watchmaker humbly offers the Forza Rossa for $145.
We reported about the innovative Quadtec digital LCD watch by Equitime last October. The company informed us that they offer now limited editions with real diamonds.
The Quadtec watch takes a fresh approach to display time digitally. The Quadtec watch can be set to show the number of minutes to the full hour. Additionally it is the first watch to display the minutes at the location of the current quarter. The diamond option gives the watch the necessary sparkle to compete with expensive traditional Swiss watches or become a hit with Hip Hop artists.
I actually have a Quadtec here. It is a bloody big time-piece. It is already a real looker and conversation piece without the diamonds. I also really like the "analog" way it tells the time.
The standard version of the Quadtec watch sells for $490 through Amazon.com.
The Eos Entourage is a handsome watch that anyone would appreciate. The catching aspect of this watch is the attractive, square face covered with a screw-in face plate and the engraved quote on the back of the case quoting, “A lifestyle is a terrible thing to waste."
This timepiece is water-resistant up to 50 meters and was made in a limited edition of 300 pieces.
Tag Heuer’s new Monaco Vintage Limited Edition pays tribute to the Porsche-Gulf 917k race car in the movie, Le Mans. The original Monaco became an icon on Steve McQueen’s wrist in the 1970 racing movie, Le Mans. Shadowing the original version, the new Monaco sports a black dial with orange and blue stripes, the vintage “GULF” logo, and matching black alligator strap with orange stitching.
Citizen has given its VIRT W700 Bluetooth watch a face lift. The earlier version of the Bluetooth watch reminded me of a new state-of-the-art device that would replace the electric chair.
The new version has a milder style, but to me it looks like a new invention for a pulse monitor, or maybe a timepiece made for the younger generation. Instead of the stark black, mechanical stiffness the old version reflected, this new version is daubed in a milder black. But, the soft colors (available in blue, pink or white) around the frame of the display break up the dark dreariness.
The cute little Japanese manifested characters, the Pokeman, is available in watch form. Any Pokeman enthusiasts, mostly the young at heart, would love to collect one or two of these little puppies.
The Pokemon-inspired digital timepiece shows the time in bold numbers, with Pikachu on the display. Available in bright blue and an almost electric red, the Pokemon watch is made up of nothing but plastic. But, it’s a must-have for those who are collectors of Pokemon.
Consider this time piece sold. Licking your chops is as near as you’re going to get to the URWERK 201 Blackshark. This timekeeper lives up to its name dressed in stark black, rounded out by a complementary leather strap. The crystal clear window is the eyes to its dark soul, forcing you to wonder if you’re gripped by its spell.
Like its 103 counterpart, this one will arrive with a Platinum PVD’ed version. ‘Felix” the creator of this fine watch, will only manufacturer 250 of these timepieces (this includes the 103’s and 201’s).
This watch presents an image of a businessman who uniquely lives on the edge with style. The Oakley Judge Stealth Black’s features hint to be a formal, yet avant-garde watch. Some of the benefits to note on this time-piece are smooth-flowing second hand that soars to the current moment when pause is released; a sub dial for logging minutes and hours; and excellent precision of 10-jewel Swiss movement.
This Judge™ watch’s has impact-forge stainless steel bracelet with the flexibility and fit of micro adjustment links; and anti-reflective (AR) coating on the face of the watch that prevents glare from the sapphire crystal. Listed at $650, this watch doesn’t justify the price.
Out on an adventure in the unfamiliar terrains of the Appalachians? You’ll fumble through its mysteries while stumbling over Mainnav’s clumsy MG-920 Bluetooth GPS receiver.
Sporting a SiRF Star III LP chip, this GPS watch ejects from you wrist and forces your attention to its navigational instructions. Though it’s hard to refrain from harping on this creature’s features, we’ll pause for a second to give you the lowdown on the pretty decent specs this GPS possesses.
See your way through a dark room with the Swiss Army’s Night Vision watch line. This black, rigid timepiece sports conservative, yet contemporary features while maintaining affordability.
The Night Vision is equipped with a built-in LED flashlight that sits above the 12:00 o’clock point and is bright enough to get you across that richly dim room. The flashlight can be illuminated with the touch of a button on the left side of the case and powered by a second battery. If you just want to comfortably view the time, or if the flashlight battery dies, the optional LED dial light is on hand.
A really cool line of watches out there are the Yes watches - they essentially show all sorts of crazy time equations in a unique and fairly elegant way, and they just came out with their new "Tati" watch.
The Yes Tati is precisely that. By replacing the analog 24-hour hand that distinguishes the rest of the lineup with an LCD, Yes was able to remove an entire quartz movement and extra battery. The result is a much smaller watch which is just as unique as the other pieces, and with all the same functionality.
You make the call on watch winders. Depending on the value of your watch(es) and the need to wind your watch, a watch winder might be a good investment (if that’s what you want to call it). But, if you are in the market for a watch winder, a few that we’ve run across are The Winder Binder (shown here), the Sparta from Orbita and Wolf Designs Module 3.0. They are reasonably priced and get the job done.
