Olivier Schwab and Jean-Marie (Mario) Schwab. Quadtec LCD Watch Tells Time Differently The Quadtec digital LCD watch by Equitime takes a fresh approach to display time digitally. The Quadtec watch can be set to show the number of minutes to the full hour. Additionally it is the first watch to display the minutes at the location of the current quarter.

The design is actually that smart to switch the count down of minutes after the first 30 min. The result is that you actually start reading the time on a digital display as you would on an analog one. You start saying 11 min. to ten instead 9:49. This is really a great idea.

You can customize the Quadtec time display in several ways to find the most comfortable way for you to tell the time naturally.

The Worlds Smallest LED Watch Japanese online watch store Tokyoflash just informed us about a new LED Wristwatch, which is supposed to be the world's smallest LED watch.

Tokyoflash should have the overview of all LED watches so I believe them if they say the Retsu by Saishin LED watch is the world's smallest LED watch. Measurements of this cryptic LED watch are 25mm x 30mm x 8mm and the weight is 40g. The metal dial features a clean design and the watch comes with a black suede strap.

The small size comes at a price. This LED watch has 10 LED dots to tell time. You have to push a button and then the watch displays in sequence the digits fo the current time. It does not get much more minimalist than this.

Tokyoflash sells the Retsu by Saishin for $127.08 with free world-wide shipping.

Two days ago I reported on a watch that keeps you healthy, but what about a watch that allows doctors to make an instant diagnoses for diseases such as malaria and meningitis? It might sound kind of strange but it's true. The Cambridge based nanotechnology firm Akubio, received a £826,000 Government grant for their innovative new portable and low-cost, rapid-response disease diagnosis device.

Nowadays they are making electronics that do everything to make our lives easier. Well how about a watch that keeps you healthy? Philip Stein has introduced a line of high-end timepieces which combine style and a special Teslar chip.

Developed several years ago, Teslar technology was designed to emit a signal that shields live cells from ambient electromagnetic fields. This protection was proven by its developers to enhance the immune system in humans exposed to it.

HP has revealed its new hub for mobile devices and it's a... wristwatch? Yes it's true HP has developed the first wearable communication hub. The watch will handle a user's connectivity requirements. All the user's mobile devices will simply communicate solely with the hub.

Phil McKinney, chief technology officer for HP's personal systems group, said, "People want more powerful devices with more memory and more radios, and you have to cram all this in. So we have this concept of a watch, which is something we are driving to. Devices just need to communicate with this watch."

At TimeZone, Mike Margolis quotes an email from Jean-Claude Biver. JC Biver is the man behind Hublot. He seems to follow some other smart CEO’s from watch manufacturers, by posting and scanning on watch forums. Below his email, as quoted by Mike Margolis:

“This a new sponsoring agreement made with Luna Rossa (which belongs in majority to Prada) in order to make a special Big Bang, all in the materials used in the America’s Cup boat. Full ceramic, Kevlar, carbon, titanium and rubber."

Patek is a respected name in the watch industry and it's easy to see why with their new Phillippe 5104 wristwatch. Patek is ready to move on and create more interesting and exciting watches, watches that create a statement of the people who wear them, as Patek says, “This isn’t your father’s Patek”. This watch includes sapphires in the dial, and sterling silver and 18K gold on the case.

A bluetooth watch is nothing new. Just recently we talked about the new Fossil caller ID watch. But now there's a bluetooth watch that allows you to control your music on your phone. While the Sony Ericsson MBW-100 contains almost all the same features as the new Fossil watch the advantages are a much m ore stunning design and the ability to change songs in your MP3 player phone.

New Citizen Vagary Siyuutou Citizen introduces in Japan new Vagary brand wrist watches dubbed Siyuutou.

The Citizen Vagary Siyuutou collection consists of 6 series totaling 19 models. The design is inspired by retro car speedometer and radios.
