Tag Heuer focuses this year on Precision at the BaselWorld Wristwatch show.

Tag Heuer is the only watch company to offer 1/10th, 1/100th, 1/1000th of a second simultaneously in wrist-worn chronographs.
This years concept chronograph is the Monaco Calibre 360 LS (photo). The LS stands for Linear second. The design is inspired by the Monaco V4. The Monaco Calibre 360 LS features a 1/100th chronograph counter, a 15 minute counter, a 100 minute power reserve indicator and a linear second indicator. Last year Tag Heuer showed the Calibre 360 concept watch at the BaselWorld.

Seiko announces new appetime Papilio fashion watches in Japan. This extremely colorful Seiko watches have a unique look.

As with the Seiko Issey Miyake twelve, I do not know if the Papilio will be available outside of Japan.

Seiko shows a highly accurate mechanical wristwatch at the Baselworld 2006 in Switzerland.

As far as I can make out from the Japanese press-release this new Seiko wristwatch has no name jet.
Seiko claims that the automatic winding watch works on 12 beats (vibrations) per second. The watch can run 40 hours without rewinding. The case is made from white and pink gold. The glass is sapphire. The back is see-through.
It is not clear when this new mechanical Seiko watch will hit the market.

Seiko SII is manufacturing two wristwatches designed by the Issey Miyake fashion label.

The new stylish Issey Miyake watches are called TO and TWELVE. Especially the TWELVE (right) features a captivating design. The shape of the glass actually marks the hour segments. Interesting is also the minimalist date display.
The TWELVE sells for about 35000 yen (~$300).

UMBRO markets soccer world cup wrist watches in Korea. The Soccer World Cup in Germany is a major opportunity for companies push sales of their products. It is also a reason to create new soccer themed products.

Sports label UMBRO has several wristwatches on the start in Korea with Soccer themes. The UMBRO DFB (photo) has dial in a soccer ball pattern.
The watch is water proof and the dial can light up in color.

DAP Review found at the CES 2006 a new kind of MP3 Player wristwatch featureing some kind of music vibration.

The BRAINic Vitwave VW-500 and VW-600 mp3 player watches are still not finalized. The current specification include a 65k color OLED screen, 512MB or 1GB flash memory, USB 2.0, MP3, WMA and OGG support and plays also AVI videos and displays jpg photos.
The stylish Vitwave watch measures 65x45x32mm.

Casio introduces new radio wave controlled wristwatches for the outdoors.

The new PRW-1100YTJ (photo), PRW-1100BJ, PRW-1200TJ and PRW-1200CJ are able to synchronize time from 5 stations in the world; two stations in Japan, one in the US, one in the UK and one in Germany.

Additionally the new Casio watches measure altitude, temperature and atmospheric pressure. On top of that the Casio watches are powered by solar.
