Remember the Alba Spoon Wrist Watches? Well Alba goes different ways these days. Alba, which belongs to Seiko, has a more conservative direction. Clearly the Wired XYZ line is still a bit futuristic, but the Alba ROOX is very traditional.
The Alba ROOX are waterproof up to 10bar. Some models are Radio wave controlled others feature solar panel as dial.
Looks like the ROOX line is only sold in Japan.

We reported about the Pimp Star Performer Retro Wristwatch a couple weeks ago. The Gadgeteer has now a review of this japanese watch published.
"I can hear you saying to yourself, "Hey! This watch is flashy, bold and fun - I might wear it!" Well, maybe not in so many words, but that's close to what I thought when I saw it for the first time on the Tokyoflash site. Now, before I go any further, let's clear the air and say that the Star Performer is a cool offering from a company with an unfortunate name: Pimp Watches. "

We received a press-release from TechNote Time Watch Company in Florida announcing their line of Wristwatches that display electro-technical formulas on the dial.
The Technote Watch makes Ohm's Law, power equation formulas and resistor band charts available at all times to the wearer. Great for students during tests, kinda low-tech but better than writing formulas on your hand.
A Technote Wristwatch starts at $25 and come in either AC or DC formula versions. To bad that not both are on the watch. Maybe a turnable dial like in some of those high-end Wristwatches would make sense here.

The D01 Hoshina Limited is really limited with 100 pieces. The avialable watches have been distributed already last week amongst poeple who registered. The special edition XYZ has a blue-ish finish compared to the grey and black standard model.
I already got several emails from people asking where to buy a XYZ Watch outside Japan. Well it is just not available outside. I also could not find a japanese exporter who ships the XYZ Wired Watches outside Japan.
Message to Seiko: go and market those cool watches outside of Japan.
